Always a nature lover, an outdoor person and an amateur phenologist, the natural world and the landscapes around East Brighton’s Downs with its undulating curved hillsides inspire my work. I note the signs of the turning of the seasons, the early emergence of blossom on elm trees, the first bud-burst in Spring. Often outdoors sketching, all seasons. Recently I have turned to print making and I am becoming an obsessive lino-cutter.
